CCDA Miami

The Arts at the CCDA Annual Conference -

All Things Arts

Expect a significant arts emphasis during CCDA '08 Miami in the forms of reflection, education and hands-on, direct involvement. Because we believe art is something that is given as well as received, our desire is that conference attendees be afforded the opportunity to appreciate different art forms as well as be creative in art-making.  We anticipate three main ways for this to happen:

Art for Education - Special pre-conference seminar (James Ward, New City Fellowship, Chattanooga, TN) Wed, October 22
Seminar Title: "He is Our Peace: Shalom in the Church through Music and Worship"  more info

Art for Enjoyment -

~ "Arts Central" A major, highly visible gallery space to display and create art. - Call for Artists to Display around conference theme of "shalom". more info

~ Various presentations during plenary sessions, morning and evening - dance, bands, Haitian choir, skits

~ "Time for Jammin" - Informal gathering of musicians after a couple of the evening sessions to create and enjoy music together!

~ Coffee house - Friday, October 24

Art for Reflection -
Attendees can spend time in prayer and reflection centered around selected Bible passages using different media (clay, markers, crayons, pencils, collage items, etc.)
