CCDA Miami 08 - Getting from the Airports to Downtown Miami and the Hyatt Regency (and back)
The
following information will help you get from either Miami International Airport
(MIA) or Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) to downtown Miami and the
Hyatt Regency, site of this year's Conference.

Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) >GO>
Some of you may choose to fly into Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL)
Depending on the airline, time you book and where you come from, fares may be
cheaper than arriving at Miami International (MIA)
Ground Transportation from FLL to downtown
Miami and the Hyatt Regency - If saving money is important to you &
you're willing to take some extra time & do some planning, you can
get from FLL to the Hyatt Regency for $3. NOTE: Remember that
you'll have to get back to FLL from downtown Miami. The following info will
get you where you want to go very economically. You'll just have to plan accordingly,
allow time, realize that the schedules for the MetroMover and Tri-Rail are different
on weekends, etc.
Cheapest way to get from FLL to downtown Miami and the Hyatt
Regency - $3 if you buy a one - way fare....
1) Take shuttle bus from FLL to the Tri-rail station - Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood
International Airport at Dania Beach
(Your ticket entitles you to take the Tri - rail and then Metro Mover. (The
People Mover is free)
2) Take the Tri - rail South to Metrorail Transfer Station (5 stops)
3) Go upstairs and take take the Metrorail to Government Center Station
4) Go to the second floor and take the People Mover to the Knight Center station.
This is your stop for the Hyatt Regency.
From
FLL to Downtown Miami and Hyatt Regency by shuttle
~ Go Airport Shuttle - Has desks on the lower level of each
terminal. 1-800 244 8252. Cost per person to downtown Miami - $18 This looks
to be the most inexpensive way to get to downtown Miami from FLL by van.
Rental Cars from FLL -
On-Airport Rental Car Providers: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Continental, Dollar, Enterprise, E-Z Rent A Car (954) 316 4848, Hertz, Interamerican, National, Payless, Royal & Thrifty ll have counters at the central Car Rental Facility at the airport. This building is in the Cypress Parking Garage and is connected to terminal 1 by a bridge, but can be walked from any of the terminals. However, brightly colored shuttle buses are provided that run to each terminal.
